About BCRC

The Bay County Road Commission (BCRC) is responsible for road, bridge and rights-of-way maintenance, unpaved (gravel) road maintenance and cold-weather operations throughout Bay County. The BCRC has procedural standards for municipal operation and maintenance activities aimed at conducting activities efficiently and safely, while being fiscally responsible with the public dollar. As of 2024, the BCRC is responsible for 370 miles of Primary roads, 662 miles of Local or Township roads and 88 Primary and Local bridges. The BCRC is also under contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), providing maintenance for 435 lane miles of state-trunkline roadway throughout Bay County. MDOT state-trunklines are those designated with one of the following prefixes; “I”, “M” or “US” (i.e. I-75, M-25, US-10).
